Namib Minerals - Corporate Lifestyle and Executive headshots
We were commissioned to create clean, consistent corporate headshots for Namib Minerals’ leadership team while they were in New York. They’d seen our work on LinkedIn and wanted that same polished, modern look. During planning we suggested widening the scope, which led to a mix of professional headshots, environmental portraits, and group images for their website, investor materials, and press.
We reviewed several Midtown locations, visiting options on Gigster and Peerspace before settling on 57 West 57th Street. The space had great natural light and a neutral backdrop that worked well for business headshots and corporate lifestyle photography. On the shoot day we brought a digitech, an assistant, and hair and makeup to keep everything smooth, especially with executives arriving straight off long flights. We started with a fast, portable studio setup for uniform headshots, then moved into contextual portraits and team images.
The next morning we documented their milestone event at Nasdaq MarketSite, and you can see more from the Nasdaq portion of the shoot in my blog post on why professional headshots matter at https://www.davidpexton.com/photography-blog/why-are-headshots-important, which includes additional portraits and full event coverage. The mix of formal moments, the market floor energy, and the support from friends and family gave the project a strong documentary layer that paired well with the headshot work.
