Headshot Photography FAQ

FAQs for Executives & Teams

Q: What’s your process?
We come to your office or chosen location with a streamlined lighting setup, background (if needed) and our full team. Christine directs and coaches you throughout, while David handles technical details. Expect a relaxed, efficient session—no stiff poses or guesswork.

Q: How long does it take?
For individual executives, plan on 10–20 minutes, 45 minutes for editorial and environmental portraits. For team sessions, we allow extra time for hair/makeup touch‑ups and consistent lighting.

Q: Do you bring hair and makeup?
Yes. For corporate shoots we travel with a professional hair and makeup artist, a digital tech and a lighting assistant so everyone looks polished and cohesive.

Q: What should I wear?
Professional but comfortable. Stick to neutral tones and layers (e.g., jackets, ties, scarves, minimal jewelry) that reflect your brand and personality. Avoid busy patterns, logos or very shiny fabrics. If you’re unsure, bring a couple of options and we’ll advise on the day.

Q: How many final images will I receive?
We can tailor the number to your needs. Most executives receive 3–5 fully retouched images with an online gallery of proofs to choose from. For larger teams, we deliver a consistent set for each person and a master gallery for your brand library.

Q: Do you offer retouching?
Retouching is included. We subtly refine blemishes and adjust colour and lighting to ensure a natural, professional finish. Additional retouching options are available on request.

Q: How often should I update my headshot?
Every 2–3 years, or sooner if your appearance or role changes significantly—especially after a rebrand or promotion.

Q: Can I use my headshots for multiple purposes?
Absolutely. We provide images suitable for LinkedIn, company websites, press releases, social media and speaking engagements. If you need variations for different platforms, let us know during the session.

FAQs for Actors & Creatives

Q: What’s your process?
Our sessions are collaborative and fun. Christine draws on her acting background to help you express a range of characters and emotions, while David experiments with lighting and backdrops to match your type and casting targets.

Q: How long does it take?
Actor sessions usually run 2 to 3 hours, depending on outfit changes and look variety. We’ll discuss your goals beforehand to ensure we capture everything you need.

Q: Should I hire a hair and makeup artist?
We recommend it. A professional HMU artist keeps you camera‑ready and helps you transition between looks quickly. We can provide trusted HMU artists as part of your package.

Q: What should I wear?
Bring 3–4 outfit options that show your range (business casual, casual, high‑fashion or character‑specific). Avoid logos and keep colors simple. Accessories like glasses or jackets can vary a look without a full wardrobe change.

Q: How much does a headshot session cost?
Prices vary depending on session length, number of looks and whether you need hair and makeup. Please contact us for a personalized quote.

Q: How many final images will I receive?
Typically 3–5 fully retouched shots per look. You’ll receive a proof gallery with more images so you can choose your favorites.

Q: Can I bring props or collaborators?
Yes. Props, musical instruments or costumes can showcase your versatility. If you’d like to bring a coach or manager, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate them.

Q: How should I prepare?
Rest well, hydrate and practice facial expressions in the mirror. If you color your hair or get haircuts regularly, schedule them a week before your session. Bring snacks and water to keep your energy up during longer sessions.
