We’re a NYC headshot photography team creating professional headshots and portraits for executives, actors, and businesses across New York City and Brooklyn.

We bring energy to every session. We approach each shoot with the same care and attention you’d expect on a red carpet. The goal is simple, for people to look bloody amazing!

NYC headshot photographer - David and Christine Pexton directing a corporate branding session with full crew in New York City

Our work goes beyond standard head-and-shoulders portraits. Yes, we’re professional headshot photographers in New York, but we look closely at body language, expression, and presence. We turn “I’m dreading this” into “Oh wow, that’s me? I love it!” Just because it’s a modern corporate headshot doesn’t mean it has to look like one.

While David photographs the session, shaping the light and framing the shot, Christine works closely with each subject, keeping the process relaxed, focused, and moving. Together, we solve problems quickly, help teams find a visual direction, and often develop new ideas that support how a company presents itself visually.

How We Work

Start with the brief

We start by listening. What the images are for, where they’ll live, and how you want to come across. Whether you’re leading a company, building a brand, or pitching yourself creatively, the brief shapes everything that follows.

While we’re taking photos

Sessions are collaborative and we bring the energy. We give you clear direction, and stay responsive to what’s working. We’re thinking about light, posture, expression, and movement.

Refine in real time

We shoot tethered, so you see the images coming in in real time. If something’s missing or not working, we fix it. We might suggest one direction, then immediately change course if there’s a better option. When something is working, we push it further. That back-and-forth is how we get images people actually want to use, not just approve.

Too many headshots have been over-retouched. Skin smoothed to the point where people stop looking like themselves. We take the opposite approach.

We see what works first. We’re not hunting for flaws, and we don’t try to erase character. Yes, everyone has things they’re self-conscious about, and we handle those carefully and subtly, without flattening texture or expression. The aim is simple, you look like the best version of yourself.

Finish cleanly
