Shooting Headshots at Redline Studios, Wall Street

Written by David Pexton

We're at Redline Studios on Broadway, right in the heart of lower Manhattan. 181 Broadway puts you in the middle of everything -- the Financial District on your doorstep, Pace University three blocks north, the New York Film Academy a short walk away, and the subway lines that serve lower Manhattan practically outside the door.

If you work, study, or spend time anywhere in this part of the city, it's an easy place to get to. That's the point.

What the Studio Is Like

Redline is a fully equipped commercial studio. Proper backdrops, good ceiling height, professional lighting setup. It has everything a headshot session needs without the sterile, production-line feel that some commercial studios carry. It's a working space, and it feels like one.

Christine directs. David handles light and composition. We take the time we need. Sessions here are the same as anywhere else we work -- planned, personal, and without the conveyor belt energy you get at volume studios.

Who Shows Up

Everyone. Executives from the law firms and banks nearby who want to sort their headshots without travelling uptown. Actors and students from Pace and NYFA who need professional shots close to campus. Creative professionals, consultants, founders -- anyone who spends time in lower Manhattan and has been putting off booking because the logistics felt like too much effort.

That's the point of having a studio here. It removes the excuse.
