Working with friends is always a joy, especially when they bring as much creativity and talent as Victoria. As an actor, model, and painter, Victoria needed some fresh lifestyle photos for her agents. We decided to take to the streets of Chelsea, NY.

What started as a simple photoshoot quickly turned into an afternoon of banter and creativity.

A Natural in Front of the Camera

Victoria’s experience as an actor and model was obious in all the shots. Her ability to connect with the camera made it feel easy and and her natural ease in front of the lens brought authenticity to the images. Almost felt like I was cheating.

As a photographer, moments like these remind me of how important trust and collaboration are.

Victoria’s Art: A Talent Beyond the Lens

Beyond her acting and modeling, Victoria is also an incredible painter. Her artwork reflects the same creativity and emotion she brings to her other pursuits. If you haven’t already, check out her amazing work on Instagram.

Where’s Your Favorite Shoot Location?

Have you worked in locations that brought your photos to life, like Chelsea did for this shoot? What’s your go-to tip for collaborating with creative friends? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below—I’d love to hear them!

Chelsea’s Charm as a Backdrop

Chelsea provided the perfect setting for this shoot. Even Chelsea has changed massively over the last decade, it still has a mix of industrial architecture, street art, and grit for that urban New York City feel.

The soft, golden light coming in from the west that afternoon was perfect. It brought out the texture and warmth of the surroundings. Mixing a bit of off-camera flash with the natural fill kept things balanced. Shooting lifestyle portraits in Chelsea on a lively May evening made the shoot feel full of energy.
